Dances of Universal Peace Leaders
| Tansen | Philip Tansen O’ Donohoe is a master of spiritual dance and is a leading international exponent of the Dances. He is a Senior Dance Mentor and a Khalif in the Sufi Ruhaniat International. This year he joins us as Camp Director | |
|---|---|---|
| Muiz | Muiz is a teacher in the Sufi Ruhaniat International and a member of the Mentor Teachers Guild. He has presented the Dances of Universal Peace and a variety of Sufi spiritual practices at ongoing classes, workshops, camps and retreats, in California, and around the USA, since 1979. | |
| Glenda & Trevor | Glenda and Trevor have been leading the Dances together across the South of England for many years and Glenda is a member of the Mentor Teachers Guild. "We see the Dances as a natural extension of our healing work and consider ourselves very blessed to be involved in an activity we love; which promotes both individual and world peace, and which seems to have woven together all the separate threads of our lives." | |
| Darren | Darren Messenger will be teaching the Lord’s Prayer in Aramaic again. For many this was a high spot of last year’s camp, so if you missed it last year or would like to learn more, here’s another chance to understand and meditate on the deeper meaning of the prayer. | |
| Rabia | Mary Rabia Dowson is a member of the Mentor Teachers Guild and leads a wide range of dances from Hindu and Jewish right through to Nasrudin dances | ![]() |
| Sandra | Sandra Sunfire has been teaching DUP for 11 years and trained to teach the Dances with Amida Harvey who continues to be her mentor. Sandra is part of the Sacred Arts Camp teaching team and is currently training with Neil Douglas Klotz on the Interspiritual Leadership Training being particularly drawn to his work. Sandra has now started to supervise others in leading the Dances and would love to see more people leading and Dancing in Wales. “The Dances continue to be a central part of my practice, my healing and my journey through life. I love to be part of the very real flourishing sense of community that the Dances bring in such a joyful way.” |
Another dance slot I would like to recommend is the afternoon Deepening in the Dance, sponsored by the UK Dance Network. This is an opportunity for established Dance Leaders to share their knowledge of Leading the Dances
Planetary walks will also be taught. This is a fascinating subject which gives us skills to use these energies in everyday life. So whether your taste is for the big Zikr evening, a session of goddess dances, the Aramaic or just for a good mix of dances, there will be something to suit everyone. There will also be an introductory session explaining the history of the dances and also DUP for young people.
