Sacred Arts Camp background information
The Peace Through the Arts Camp Reborn
For fifteen years, the annual Peace Through the Arts camp in Dorset, England, has been the largest international gathering for Dances of Universal Peace. Contacts made at these PTA camps helped to spread Dances of Universal Peace to many parts of the globe, and in particular helped in promoting friendship between people of the old Soviet Union and Westerners.
At the camp in 2002, the four people who had organised all the PTA camps announced that they would do it no more. So a group of fifteen people at the camp undertook to carry on the tradition. And thus was conceived the Sacred Arts Camp (SAC).
The new group is using the principles of co-operation and consensus to run this not-for-profit camp - see Our Vision. Building on the great successes since the first SAC camp in 2003, we are looking forward to another amazing 10 days of community at this year's camp - meeting up with old friends and making new ones across the many divides we seek to bridge. Who is preparing the camp?
